A local body shop brought in a '09 GMC Sierra for repair work on the liner. It had an over the rail spray on liner from one of our "competitors". This particular competitor is approx $80-$100 cheaper than our prices. It was clear why this liner was so much cheaper than ours
We peeled liner off of the side rails with ease. The surface under the liner was barely prepped. This picture shows the section of bed rail that is closest to the tailgate. The squiggle line you see in the paint was the extent of the prep done to the painted surface. That is why we peeled it off so easy..jpg)
This picture is what our prep work looks like. We sand every truck by hand to ensure that all surfaces of the truck bed are prepared correcty. You should NOT be able to peel off a spray on bedliner easily.

This picture shows us measuring the thickness of the liner on the floor of the bed. If you can't read the meter it is 48 mils thick. All of our liners are atleast 125 mils thick in all of the main wear areas. There were some areas that you could see the color of the paint through the liner!! This is an example of why this particular liner is $100 cheaper than Line-X.

If you think about it...this liner has less than half the material than ours and several corners were cut in surface preparation. For what you would be getting the price should be much lower. This kind of work would never go out of our shop. With every liner we measure the thickness and record it with the Line-X National Warranty. This is definitely an example of getting what you pay for. The best choice is not always the cheapest, it is who is most qualifed for the job.
